Lynwood Cayhart Parks March 15, 1917 April 28, 2007
Lynwood Cayhart Parks, age 90, of Wolf Point, MT and formerly of San Mateo, CA passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point after a long illness with cancer.
He was born March 15, 1917 in Johnsonburg, PA the son of Norman Hubbard and Anna Mabel (Pond) Parks. He grew up, attended schools and graduated from high school in Johnsonburg. Lynwood entered the United States Army in Harrisburg, PA in April of 1945 and served during WWII. After the war he returned to Johnsonburg where he met and fell in love with Ethel Steudler. They were marred October 10, 1940 at Niagara Falls.They continued to live in Johnsonburg. Then, in 1956, they moved to San Mateo, California where Lynwood worked as a Machinist and Production Specialist at Tilley Manufacturing. He retired in 1979 and enjoyed staying busy with leather work, yard work and anything he could tinker with to make work better.In 1991, Lynwood and Ethel moved to Wolf Point to be close to their daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Beecher.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks (61 years).
Lynwood is survived by his wife, Ethel of Wolf Point; his daughter, Karen (Jim) Beecher of Wolf Point; his son, Donald (Eunice) Parks of Florida; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Parks of Pennsylvania.He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lawrence, Harold and Sammy, and one sister, Delores Beauseigneur.
At Lynwoods request, cremation has taken place. Inurnment of cremains and military honors will be Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 PM at Greenwood Cemetery.
