Mabel Dobbin, age 104, of Terry passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Prairie Community Nursing Home in Terry.
Mabel was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 13, 1911, the daughter of John and Emma Kuhn. She attended schools in Minneapolis, Fargo and Beulah, North Dakota, Circle and Brockway, Montana. She married James Loomis of Circle in 1931. Three children were born to this union: Dean, Lynn and Kenneth. They lived seven years in Tillamook, Oregon before moving back to Brockway. In 1981, she moved to Terry, Montana. Mabel married Paul Dobbin in 1992 and they moved to Miles City in 1994.
Mabel enjoyed crocheting, knitting, teaching piano, fishing and traveling. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the St. Joseph Circle.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two granddaughters: Clair Voth and Nora Loomis; one brother John Kuhn and two sisters: Lois Thornber and Marion Bowser. She is survived by her children: Dean (Rachel) Loomis of Billings, MT; Lynn (Cliff) Neiffer of Terry, MT; Kenneth (Karen) Loomis of Rosemount, MN; her step-children: Dennis Dobbin of Buffalo, WY; Doug Dobbin of Grand Junction, CO; Ron Dobbin of Wilcox, AZ; and Paula Wilson of Tubac, AZ; two sisters: Helen Hayden of Vero Beach, FL; and Josephine Jensen of Billings, MT, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A Vigil service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements. Mabel was a dear sweet lady who will be missed. Verlin and I loved visiting with her at Eagles Manor – we would take holy communion to her on Sundays occasionally. She always had a smile and we enjoyed visiting with her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
