Magdalene Walksnice, Indian Name “Ho’oest’eo” (Lightning Woman), age 56 was called back home to Maheo on October 11, 2015 with family by her side.
Magdalene was born on March 10, 1959 in Crow Agency to Leroy Pine Sr. and Josephine Clubfoot. She was adopted and raised by Richard and Cecelia Walksnice. Magdalene attended grade school in Lame Deer, MT. She attended high school until the 10th grade at an Indian School in Wyoming. Maggie worked as a cook at the Cheyenne Depot for many years. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and listening to music. She sang when she was a teenager for the Leroy Pine Band and the Lancers.
In 1988 Magdalene married Douglas Spotted Eagle Sr. They separated and she later married Cliford Limpy. Maggie and Clifford were divorced after several years of marriage. Maggie has spent the last 9 years with Duane “Tony” Bordeaux as her companion.
Maggie was preceded in death by her mother Josephine; siblings: Eva Pine, Karen Biglefthand, Carol Clubfoot, Jolene Clubfoot, and Leroy Pine, Jr.; and Harry Bigback.
She is survived by her father, Leroy Pine; children: Dean, Deana, and Dean Bullet Spotted Eagle, Leroy Brady, Jr., and Richard Walksnice; grandchildren: Luke, Bruce, Edie, Dean III, Kya, Kyla, Kylea, Taneya, and Naylonie; her brothers: Darrell Bixby, Allen Pine, and Leland Pine; sisters: Pauline, Linda, Patricia, Pam, Darcy, and Brenda Adams; her aunt Jolene Gardner, and Adopted Mother Ella Tall Bull.
Extended family includes Pine, Walksnice, Clubfoot, Adams, Wolfchum, Little Whirlwinds, Kingfisher, Red Cherries, Roundstone, Ryan, Medicine Bull, Bixby, Eaglefeathers, Antelope, and many more. We apologize if we left anyone out.
