Marcus Craig Capture, age 46, has left us to journey to the Kingdom of Heaven with the man himself Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. He was born May 5th, 1969 at Crow Hospital. His Indian name is Hoht â hé aénohe “Spotted Hawk” after his grandfather the late Chief Bisco Spottedwolf. Marcus, was loud and proud of his Northern Cheyenne heritage and he loved his Cheyenne homeland. “Maha’kuss” as he was affectionately called, comes from a line of Northern Cheyenne Chiefs, Chief Spottedwolf and Chief Dullknife. He grew up in Lame Deer, graduated from Lame Deer School, went to high school at Colstrip. Marcus recently got a face book account in which he was very happy to reconnect with old friends and have the ability to make new friends. He had over 600 friends on face book. He loved to converse with his Cheyenne people at the People’s park. There, he cultivated and cemented his friendships. He would hitchhike to go see his friends and made many friendships through this practice. Marcus favorite pastime was listening to music and would often put his favorite songs on his face book account. He was especially proud of helping his sister set up camps at Bear Butte and at the Cheyenne Sundances. He enjoyed being the “runner” and gathering Sage for her. He was looking forward to this summer’s Sundance. Marcus was also crazy about the color Purple, and May his Lights forever shine bright.

It’s hard to believe that Marcus has gone on. He sure made an impact on a lot of peoples lives. He was a regular down town, so not seeing him will be different. He was always thankful and kind and a little crazy but that was Marcus. My kids got a big kick out of him. My condolences go out to his family. May God give you strength during this time. Knowing that he has began his journey to the Milky Way. He sure loved his Momma!!

Sincere condolences to the family of my friend Marcus. It was always good to visit him when I was in town. He was so comical. He called my house phone late one night asking for Moose Limberhand. I told him, “He’s not here. Whose calling?” He said, “Butt Butt.” I laughed and said, “This isn’t Butt-Butt. Whats up Marcus.” We had a good laugh! Journey well my friend ,,, I will miss you.

I always talked to him when I was close to him. Remember one night at 6:30 leaving Billings and who should I see sitting on the guard rail by the 27th street exit but Marcus. I stopped and picked him up and he said, I was suppose to have a ride at 6:00 and they didn’t show. I was glad I was there at the right time. We stopped at Blue basket and I got us something to eat. Had a good visit all the way home. I’ll miss him. He sure did love Leroy.
