Mardell Woodenlegs, age 53, of Busby

December 22, 1966 – August 26, 2020

Mardell Woodenlegs, age 53, of Busby passed away on August 26, 2020 in Lame Deer, MT. She was   born on December 22, 1965 to Matthew Woodenlegs Sr and Effie Whitewolf.

Mardell attended Lame Deer Public School through the 8th Grade and attained her GED at the Kicking Horse Job Corps Center in Ronan Mt. She was a Ranch Hand, Firefighter, Camp Crew, Mechanic, Bead Artist CNA, and just recently was hired as a Personal Care Assistant for her Mother and Sister.

She met Ronald Spang in the Early 80’s and they had 3 children: Jeffrey, Tamara, and Tracy. She later separated from Ronald, then met Raymond Holmes Jr., and they had Two children – Thomas Holmes and Lyle Holmes.

She separated and later met Francis August Wilson (bullet) who preceded her.

She is survived by her Sisters: Diane, Eloise, Colleen, Addie, Lola, Rachel, Jocelyn, Susan, Lexi, Terri, Rachel, April, Lola; Brothers: Jeffrey and Mattie Woodenlegs, Darrell Bixby, J. David, Mark Roundstone, Joe Jr., Tom Sr., Dana and Robert (Pius); Special Friends: Marie Wilson, Kassi Tallbull, Twila, Doreen Birdtail, Bobbi Sequi, Priscilla TallBull (Auntie), Maxine (Pudgie) Rachel, Leanne, Melvin Sr. , Shirley, Sable, Derek, Jennifer, Allthea Gleason, Cleone HighWalking, and we are sorry if we missed you, she made friends wherever she went; Aunts: Anna Mae Whitewolf, Alvina Moore, and Charlotte Bearrobe, all preceded her; Uncles: Rick Smith, Gilbert Whitedirt; Aunts: Freida Smith, Rachel Carroll, Imogene Dewey, May Whitedirt and too numerous to mention, sorry if we didn’t get you on the obit; Grandchildren: Cole, Kasey, Houston, Tyreston, Ty’laDawn, Tysha, Tyce, Tyesha, Baby Willie, Tyissmana, Winnie, Treshawn, Sky Jr, Baby Jojo,  Colette, Rainee, Nate Jr, Amaree, Na’tae, Alias (Elliot) Ta’nae, Lance, James, Lyla, Baby Lyle, Riley Rain, D’shawn, Baby Addie, Baby Brad, Braden, Colt, Cassius, Kyra, JacksonQ, Mykal, James Jr, Aniyah, Adainya, Liberty, Kelly, Alize  James Jr, Bruce, Dallon,  Amazing Day, Trulite, Kenyan; Nieces: Rhea, Dallas, Demi, Charlotte, Roni, Kristina, Padena, Alicia, Krystal, Victoria, Charlotte, Deanna; Nephews: Michael, Quincy, Nathan, Bradley, Hoss, Abel, Emmanuel, Chase, Christopher, Oda Sr, Skylar, Stryker, Rusty, Wacey, James, Darrell Jr, CACTUS, Marlin; Step Children:  Aaron and Brandon Matue; Uncle: Rick Smith; Extended families include: Whitewolf, Bearrobe, Moore, Whistling Elk, Seminole, White Dirt, Roundstone. Mardell was always getting her friends and family to laugh and have a good time.  She was the bestest ever.. One of a kind who wouldn’t leave anyone hanging….

    Mardell, you were a part of our family. This is a tough loss for me- and my girls. Kambryn has been wearing the ring you gave her for the last 3 weeks.
