Margaret Irene Landers, age 80, of Miles City was released from her Earthly duties on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Margaret was born on June 20, 1932, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Hixson) Nehren. She attended school in Hot Springs, South Dakota. After graduating from high school, she married Harry Landers on May 27, 1951 in Hot Springs, South Dakota. In 1963, they moved to Sand Springs, Montana where they farmed and ranched. In 1975, they purchased a place just south of Miles City where they continued to ranch. During this time, Margaret worked at Steadmans Hardware Store, then Riggs Camera and Gifts for many years. Together they owned a commercial building and leased to a pawn shop and Bumper to Bumper.
Margaret will be forever remembered as a loving, kind, determined, hard working mother and friend. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending auctions sales with Harry where they would search for antique treasures.
With a heavy heart, Margaret will be missed by her family which include her husband, Harry Landers of Miles City, MT; two sons: Mike (Pat) Landers and Jeff (Dalice) Landers both of Miles City, MT; daughter Anita (Albert) Murnin of Miles City, MT; two brothers: Larry (Margarette) Muchow of Georgetown, IN and Jim Nehren of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren: Travis (Stephanie) Landers, Levi (Jessica) Landers, Tyler Landers, Jade (Kyleigh) Landers, Jared (Julie) Murnin, Chad (Stephanie) Murnin, Devin (Samantha) Murnin, Megan (Mike) Hobbs and Kevin Murnin; great grandchildren: Christopher Landers, AAliyah Landers, Cage Landers, Casey Landers, Ty Landers, Tanner Landers, Claire Murnin, Cooper Murnin, Madison Hobbs and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Bob Nehren and an infant daughter Nancy Jean.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Foundation in care of the nursing team or to the charity of one’s choice.
