Mary Margaret Loomis, age 89, of Jordan went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2009 at the Garfield County Nursing Home in Jordan, MT.
Margaret was born on November 6, 1919 in Spooner, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Esther (Buck) McKnight. She moved to Ingomar, MT as a young child where she attended country school. Later on, she met and married Edgar Loomis on December 15, 1937 at Jordan, MT. Margaret and Edgar moved to Brusett, MT where they ranched and she lived for 71 years. After Edgar passed away in December of 2002, Margaret lived alone at the ranch before moving to the Garfield County Nursing Home on February 2, 2008.
Margarets greatest love and enjoyment was being a wife, mother and grandmother, her family was her life. She kept a large bulletin board up of her family. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was active in her church. Margaret loved raising a garden, chickens, bum lambs and helping out where ever she was needed. She had done a lot of canning throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, crocheting and sewing. Margaret entered many things yearling in the county fair.
Margaret is survived by her sons; John (Lillian) Loomis of Jordan and Fred Loomis of Brusett, MT, sister; Doris Barclay of Jordan, MT, sisters-in-law; June Loomis of Brusett, Clara Vannoy of Lewistown, MT and Ellen Saylor. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edgar in 2002, granddaughter Melissa Loomis, Brother Bud McKnight and daughter-in-law Darlene Loomis in 2009.
Graveside services will be held on September 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Hearts of Peace Cemetery in Brusett, MT. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
