Marguerite “Deate” Green, age 95, of Billings passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Valley Nursing Home in Billings.
Deate was born on March 1, 1918 in Knowlton, Montana, the daughter of Howard and Marie (Woodruff) Myers. She was united in marriage to Donald Green on September 11, 1936 and to this union two daughters were born: Donna Rae on March 24, 1944 and Dorothy Ann “Dotti” on August 16, 1950. In retirement, Marguerite enjoyed family, friends and travel, residing first in Miles City then relocating to Billings in 1999 with her daughter Dotti. Peggy Redman & Earl Mortensen says
Donna, Dot, and Larry,
Earl joins me in sending heartfelt condolences to you in the loss of your beloved Mother. May you find comfort and strength in knowing others care, and are thinking of and praying for you at this difficult time. I remember many years ago my late Mother and I having a discussion about how wonderful the world would be if it was full of people like “Deate” Green. That fact is even more significant today than it was then. We are praying that the love and support you receive from family and friends will give you peace now and in the days ahead.

Our thoughts and prayers to your family. What a sweet lady Deate was! I only saw her mad one time and that was when Deana and I(it was more Deana’s idea) decided to give the cat a bath. It ended with lots of scratches and I think she was more disappointed than mad. I never wanted to disappoint her again. We did get a good laugh out of that misadventure though! What a saint to put up with us whenever “we” got an idea! 🙂 she will be missed! Lots of hugs and prayers to the family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you! What a sweet lady Deate was. I only saw her get mad one time and that was when Deana and I decided to give the cat a bath. It was more Deana than me(as it seems all our “good” ideas were) 🙂 I think she was more disappointed than mad and we definitely deserved all the scratches and bites we got! But I remember thinking how much it bothered me knowing that we made such a calm person not so calm that I thought I never wanted her to be mad at me again. That story is still good for laughs and Deate’s patience with “our” great ideas I’m sure was sorely tested, over and over but I never saw her mad at me again in person(maybe in private was another matter :). ). I will always remember how beautiful her silver hair was. She will be missed. Hugs and kisses
