Marguerite Marie Lemieux, age 81, of Miles City passed away on February 28, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Hospice Extended Care in Miles City, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Marguerite was born on December 16, 1924 in Poplar, MT, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Richard)Bailly. She attended Longview country school south of Wolf Point at the Riverside Community. Coming from a large family, Marguerite helped to raise her brothers and sisters on the family farm before she went to work for Huxsol Drug in Wolf Point, MT.
Dona and Marguerite were married at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Riverside, Montana on August 13, 1947 and purchased their own bakery in Wolf Point, MT. They began farming in north McCone County in 1951. In 1961, Dona and Marguerite moved to Fairview, MT where they operated a bakery until purchasing a bakery in 1962 in Forsyth, MT where they resided until 1969 at which time they sold their bakery and moved to Miles City. In Miles City, they purchased the Copes Trailer Court and Green Star Court which they operated until September of 1993. Marguerite was an accomplished homemaker, who loved working in her yard and garden, especially tending her flowers. She used the produce from her garden to can, bake pies and make jelly. She was also famous for her sewing, homemade bread and rolls. Throughout Marguerites life, she was very devoted to the church which was an important part of her life. Her devotion led her to volunteering her time cleaning the church, washing and ironing church linens, baking pies and serving food at the Custer County Fair, rummage sales, funeral luncheons and many other church activities. She was a faithful member of St. Josephs Circle, the church prayer chain and Catholic Daughters of America.
Marguerite is survived by her children; Helen (Dick) Bouchee of St. Paul, MN, Anna (John) Ognie of Elizabeth, CO, Henry (Jessie)Lemieux of Billings, MT, Anthony (Sharon)Lemieux of St. Marys, GA, Theresa (Mark)Gunnett of Denver, CO, Cecilia (Gene) Fuhrman of Great Falls, MT, Thomas (Martha) Lemieux of Pflugerville, TX, Clement (Roberta) Lemieux of Glasgow, MT and Agnes (Earl) Price of Miles City, MT. 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two soon to be great grandchildren. Survivors also include sister Agnes (Herb) Brown of Richey, MT, four brothers; Ernest (Mary)Bailly of Great Falls, MT, Leon (Irene)Bailly of Spokane, WA, George (Helen)Bailly of Fairfield, MT, Albert (Barbara)Bailly of Billings, MT, her brother-in-law JoeLosinski of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and AnnaBailly, her husband Dona in 1997, an infant son, Joseph, her brother Julian Bailly andsister Magdalene Losinski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006 with a Rosary Service at 6:30 pm followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City, MT. Conversation, cookies and coffee will follow the Vigil service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City, MT. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery in Miles City, MT.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marguerite Lemieuxs name to the Sacred Heart School; 520 N. Montana, Miles City, MT 59301, to the Miles City Hospice; 2600 Wilson, Miles City, MT 59301 or to the charity of one's choice.
