Marie Estelle Boothe age 66, of Forsyth Montana passed peacefully at her home on June 10, 2022.
Marie was born July 12, 1955 to Robert & Rose Schreiber in Oregon City, Oregon.
As a youth Marie loved to swim, she won many awards including a certificate for life saving.
The family moved to Montana in 1971 when Marie was a sophomore in high school. Leaving behind many friends and cousins that Marie missed dearly, she eventually learned to LOVE Montana!!! She graduated from Dawson County High School in 1973. In 1975 Marie married Steve Garfield to this union 4 children were born, Bryan, Carrie, Robert and Andrew. In 1983, Marie moved her to Great Falls Montana where the family made many new lifelong friends. Marie decided to peruse a career in education where she graduated in 1996 Cum Laude with a Mathematics Degree. As she proceeded in her career she earned her Doctorate in Mathematics. She was so excited to be called Doctor Boothe. Marie absolutely loved college. If she could have she would have remained a college student for life. In 1990 she met and married Aubrey James “Jim” Boothe and to this union twins Kendra and Aaron were born.
Upon graduating Marie began her teaching career in Hays MT where she taught for two years before taking a job in Ashland MT at ST Labre Catholic Indian School where she taught until her passing. Marie adored her students and faculty at St. Labre. They were a second family to her.
Her children fondly remember family fishing trip, camping and picking Huckleberries. She enjoyed crocheting, bead work and puzzles and loving her little dog Pepper! In 2017 Marie &Jim were finally able to purchase their dream home “off grid” on Wild Horse Ranch Lane. Marie loved her new home and being on the land!!!
Marie was preceded in death by her father Robert Schreiber, husband “Jim” Boothe, son Aaron Boothe, and good friend “Jo” Lindberg.
She is survived by her children, Bryan (Clara) Garfield, Carrie (Scott) Skartved, Robert Garfield, Andrew Garfield, Kendra (Aaron) Croteau and stepdaughter Becky. Her Mother Rose Schreiber, four brothers Robert (Lynette) Schreiber, John (Melody) Schreiber, Rev. Francis Schreiber, Leonard (Candice) Schreiber, two sisters Cindy (Ed) Mittelstad, Denise (Alvin) Mittelstad. 12 grandchild, 8 great grandchildren, all of her nieces and nephews, and her little dog too!!!
Special thank you to her St. Labre Family, and very special friends Melissa and Sean.
Services will be held Tuesday June 14th at 10am at St Labre. A Rosary will be held Monday June 13th at 7pm at St Labre. Burial will be on Thursday at 11am in Glendive.
