On April 17, 2013 our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend went home to be with Ma’heo’o. Marie,”Nah’Ka – Bear Woman” a direct descent of Chief Little Wolf, was born on December 30, 1944 to Willis His Bad Horse and Josie Soldier Wolf. Mary Soldier Wolf raised Marie and her siblings. She attended high school at Lincoln High in Tacoma, Washington. Marie loved her family; she was especially close to her grandchildren. She raised Roger, Mitchell, Jaylen, Alicia Nicole, Michael and her name sake Sean Marie. Marie worked for the CETA Program, Rosebud Lodge, and Cheyenne Home, Arts/Crafts Center. In her spare time she loved to play Bingo and watch her favorite “programs” on TV. She devoted her weekends to Bingo; she found enjoyment playing Bingo with her sister/best friend Mae Whistling Elk. She enjoyed being at home especially when family had cookouts, being with the newest babies in the family. She was proud of her Cheyenne heritage. She loved going to pow-wows and loved to Traditional Dance. Marie was lonesome for her son Mike who passed away in 2006.
She met Leonard Wolf Black and to this union James & Linwood His Bad Horse were born. She later met and married Fred Medicine Bull, Jr. and from this union Michael, Florris and Fredonia were born.

Flo (Kim), Fredone, Jaylen, Mitchell, Sean & Roger, Emmaline & Family;
Sorry for your loss. Deepest condolences for the loss of Marie. I feel so bad now that I didn’t get to see her when she asked for me. She was always in my prayers when I found out she was ill. I know she is finally resting with all her aches and pain. I will miss seeing her with mom (Mae) when I would check on them at the casino. Mom is hurting with the loss of her sister and we will have to check on her more often. Prayers to all of you.

Marie will be missed by many. I admired her and all the love she had for her relatives, especially her children. They were very important to her, she supported them abundantly. I enjoyed the time I spent with her in my headstart years as a teacher to her lovely daughter Fredonia. Prayers to you Fredon and your family in your time of sorrow. Remember that she is a safe and perfect place with Ma’he’o. She will be with you always. Love you.

Dear Family and Friends of Marie Medicine Bull – Please be comforted by Bible promises at this difficult time. Continue to dwell on the happy memories and fine qualities that you remember about Marie Medicine Bull . Death and suffering was not part of the Creator’s original purpose for mankind. Everything that God created was “very good” (Genesis 1:31). Death came to mankind due to Adam’s sin (Genesis 2:17). Because of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice, hope of everlasting life was restored and death will be done away with (Revelation 21:4). Faith in these Bible promises and looking forward to the joy of seeing your family member in perfect Paradise conditions hopefully will ease the pain of loss.
