Mark Gawaine Holden, age 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, surrounded by loved ones, on September 16, 2025.
Born on May 4, 1955, in Missoula County, Montana, Mark was the son of Charles William Holden and Carol Holden. He grew up in Bozeman, where he attended Bozeman High School and made his mark as a passionate athlete, excelling in football and wrestling. Known for his adventurous spirit, Mark shared countless wild and memorable moments with his cousin, D.W. Johnson.
After high school, Mark followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the IBEW Local 532, where he proudly served for 48 years. A devoted Bobcats fan, Mark found joy in the great outdoors—hunting, fishing, and camping were among his favorite pastimes, especially when shared with family.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Geri Holden; sons Patrick, Jeff, and James Holden; stepson Justin Fischer; daughters-in-law Barby, Chrissy, Skittles Fischer, and Shasta Bishop; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Mark’s wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of life. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Intermountain Health Hospice Care for their compassionate support.
