Marlan O. Nepstad, age 70, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at his home of natural causes.
Marlan O. Nepstad was born on September 18, 1934 the son of Carl and Martha (Perkins) Nepstad in Watford City, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Watford City, North Dakota. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and after his honorable discharge he returned to North Dakota where he attended James Town State College. Marlan moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1959 where he worked in the oilfields until the 1990s. In 1968 he opened Nepstad trailer park and eventually started several other oil field related businesses which he operated during the 1980s and continued with the trailer park until the time of his death.
Marlan is survived by his son, Marvin Nepstad; daughter, Valerie (Brian) Wilson; step daughter, Victoria Lowry all of Gillette, Wyoming; step son, Fred Lowry of Poplar, Montana; three sisters: Margaret Eikren of Alexander, North Dakota; Hazel Sandstrom of Williston, North Dakota; Evelyn Mahlen of Bainville, Montana; brother, Kenny Nepstad of London, England; four granddaughters: Cassidy Simon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Amanda Nepstad, Elizabeth Nepstad and Jessica Wilson all of Gillette, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
