Martha Ann Elizabeth Hutchins, 72, of Forsyth passed away on December 11, 2015 at Riverstone Hospice in Billings.
Martha was born in Orange, Texas on August 19, 1943 to Joseph and Roberta Elizabeth (Kiegley) Melancon. She was the fourth of six children. Martha grew up and attended different schools throughout Texas. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1961. For the next decade she worked as a secretary in both California and Texas.
In March of 1973, Martha married Bill Bailey Hutchins. They raised 2 sons together, Michael and Scotty.
Martha was a woman of great faith, and she believed very much in reading her scriptures every day. She is known to many as a Prayer Warrior, for she would call her special niece Dennie and they would pray for people together. She was constantly praying for others. Martha’s kids and grandkids were very important to her.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Kevin Hutchins; and a granddaughter, Eternity.
She is survived by her two sons: Michael (KariLea) and their children Zayla, Ayden, and Kyler; Scott (Tina), their children Kyrie, Elizabeth, and Emily, and a great-grandson Henry; her step-son Kevin’s (Kimberly) family: Joshua, Austin, Nicholas, and Brooklyn; and her siblings J.E. (Judy) Melancon of Arp, TX, Jeannie (Willard “Bubba”) Gillard, of Liberty, TX, Gordon Melancon of Hull, TX, Celie (Joe) Bloomfield of Beaumont, TX, and Mac Melancon of Batson, TX.
We would like to extend a special thanks to mom’s nurses, Melanie and Honey, and all others that helped take care of her at Riverstone Health Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth. Graveside Services will follow at the Forsyth Cemetery.

I look forward to spending Eternity with my sister, Annie. She was a beacon for her Savior all of her life and lived everyday according to bible teachings. She ALWAYS led me in the ‘path of righteousness’ and I will miss her humor and love, but am assured that she is in the Arms of Abraham and praising God and His Son, Jesus Christ, accepting her mansion that she deserves AND walking the ‘streets of gold’. Enjoy your heavenly rewards, sweet Martha Ann, rejoicing with loved ones you have been reunited with. Love, Christine

I will miss u, sweet Martha. What an inspiration you were to me to keep fighting no matter what! You fought a brave battle and never gave up. God just needed a special angel so He called you home. I know you’re in Paradise in a mansion that must be glorious. I’m sure Jesus smiled when He saw your face. I love u and will forever hold you close to my heart.

We are saddened that we will not be with you: Michael, Scott, and your precious families for our sister’s service of remembrance. Annie was a prayer warrior, a woman of great faith, a dedicated mother and grandmother. May I add also she was a great sister, sister-in-law, aunt, etc.! She knew well how to give sacrificially of herself, her means–no matter how tough times might be, and her love to those around her. Annie also knew how to forgive others–she learned that from her very best friend, Jesus. She had many other wonderful qualities and talents, such as cooking and homemaking.
I have the great gift of memories with my sweet sister. Sharing a bed when we were kids, sharing chores like washing and drying dishes–a monumental task because our mom cooked BIG meals with BIG pots–, laughing till tears ran down our faces over silly girl things, and crying over the big things in our lives such as when our daughter was killed in a car crash. Annie flew to Texas to be with me and our family even though she hated to fly. I thank God we had 10 wonderful days this past August to be together while she was still able to enjoy such a visit. What a gift! The picture posted here was taken during that visit. I know that my brothers and my sister would agree she was a wonderful sister and friend.
Please know–Michael, Scott, and families–that we are holding hands with you in our hearts tomorrow during her service and in the days to come. May our Lord Jesus Christ anoint you with His peace and grace.
Love you all, Aunt Celie and Uncle Joe

I was very saddened to learn that Aunt Martha Ann passed away. My memories of her will always be of her kindness, warmth, strength and her sense of humor. As I reflect on my own personal recollections with Aunt Martha Ann, love and laughter are the threads that are woven through them all.
To my cousins Michael and Scotty – Aunt Martha Ann loved you, her daughters-in-law, and her grandchildren more than anything. You were the absolute joy and delight of her life. No Mama or Grandma could have more love and pride for her family than she did for all of you. That love and the memories you made with her through the years are her lasting gifts to you now. My wish for you all is they will bring you comfort, strength and peace in the days and weeks to come. As long as you continue to share your thoughts and memories, recalling your years together with her, Aunt Martha Ann will forever be with you in your hearts and minds.
Love,
Stacy, Gary, and Joshua
Sharon Prokop says
Martha will be greatly missed by many as all of the above reads. We had a lot of great talks over the years and I’m missing her already. My Grandmother passed away on Christmas Eve many years ago and I remember this poem that someone had given me during this time of year and it touched my heart deeply, so here goes from Rich, Shari, and Kailey Prokop.
I’m Spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this Year
I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven’s stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I’m spending Christmas,
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can’t compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear the angels sing.
I can’t tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our Savior, face to face?
I’ll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another,
As I lift your eyes above.
Please let your hearts be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I’m Spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I’m walking with the King.
June R. Kober says
I will miss you ( big sis) thank you for adopting me as your little sister.
Love you and I know that you are no longer in pain. Until we meet again.

Carin Simmons says
Annie made her mark on this earth as I’m sure she will in heaven! She was a woman of great faith, and as others said, a PRAYER WARRIOR! My earliest remembrances of her are of a woman who embraced life with a sense of humor and humility. What a great combination!
To Michael, Scotty, your families and Annie’s extended family, I am sincerely sorry for our loss, but what is our loss is heaven’s gain. May she forever live in the hearts and minds of those who love her. I pray that each and every one of you make the decision necessary to see her again in heaven. This can only be done with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I know that was her desire – she loved you each so very much!
Love, Carin
