Mary B. Hutton, age 88, died peacefully Monday, March 17, 2008 at Fischer Cottage, St. John's Lutheran Ministries, in Billings, Montana.
Mary was born on May 6, 1919 in Auburn, Nebraska, the daughter of Roy and Bess Parker. She married Luther Hutton on October 31, 1945. During World War II she was a secretary in two defense plants in Los Angeles, California. She worked for the Department of Agriculture in Miles City, Montana. Mary was a member of the United Christian Church of Miles City.
Mary had a tremendous love of books. She had a voracious appetite for reading and often chose novels that challenged the most well-read. Her quest of knowledge was so great that she, in her 70's, and a good friend in her 80's took a course in Mid-Eastern Culture at Miles Community College. They had the highest grades in the class.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Luther, her parents, sister Phyllis Cook and brother Roy Parker.
She is survived by three children; Meridee Anderson (husband, Robert) of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, Richard Hutton (wife, Janet) of Billings, Montana, Robin Hutton of Helena, Montana, four grandchildren, Joel and Jason Leidholt and their father Deane, and Kacie and Kory Hutton. In addition, she is survived by her brother Paul Parker of Omaha, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 1:00 pm. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery.Should friends desire, memorials may be made to
