We were so shocked to hear of the passing of the most wonderful, caring, loved woman. She was such a great Speech Pathologist and helped many students along there path to speak better. We will not be able to attend the services, as we are out of town, wish we could be there, and will be in spirit. God Bless you and hoping he will help you through your grief. Thoughts and Prayers,

Deepest sympathy to Kevin, Brianne & family. We had lost touch over the years but I have very fond memories of good times with Joanie when we were in our teens when we would visit my grandparents in So Dak. Sounds like she was an inspiration to all who knew her. From Julie Sargent Sparks, Chandler AZ (Granddaughter of Nellie Donahue Sargent)

Joan was wonderful, warm, funny, professional, capable, energetic, concerned, and so many, many more adjectives. Possibly her greatest attribute was good old South Dakota common sense. Joan never steered you wrong. She listened well and when she offered advice it was well thought-out. She has been my rock the last year always checking in, making sure I was ok. She was a great friend and I will miss her.

John Culberson says
Dear Kevin,Brianne,Pat and Dan,
It just broke my heart when I read the Journal this noon. Joan Donahue was one of my favorites those many years ago at LHS. I kept track of her a bit thru you, Pat, but I don’t think any of you knew just how much I thought of her. She was just one of those kids you always remember as a teacher. She had that “something”. I wish I could have been there to honor her. You are certainly in my thoughts.
Denise and Norm Holte says
Our thoughts and prayers go to Joan’s family during this time. May God’s love and peace envelope you through this loss. She was a heck of a gal!
Marc Miller says
I first met Joanie in 1970. She was a great friend and she was always great company. I do believe the last time we met was in 1972 or 1973. While I failed to keep in touch with Joanie over the years, I will always remember her kind and compassionate way. She will certainly be missed — and not just by me. The world goes on, but in a much poorer state after Joanie’s passing.
Doug Oxford says
Joan was a very classy lady. I enjoyed working with her. She will be greatly missed. Our little girl loved her because she got to snack in the hospitality room when I coached.
