Mary Lois Johnson, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Prairie Community Nursing Home in Terry.
Mary was born on August 31, 1919 in Andes, Montana, the daughter of Ingvald and Anna (Jensen) Gabrielson. She was married on August 28, 1940 to Harvey Johnson in Glasgow, MT. After marriage they moved to Sidney, MT where they lived on a beet farm. In 1960 they moved to Terry, MT and lived on an irrigated farm where they grew corn and beets until they moved into town in 1977. In 1987, Mary and her special friend Jim Vaughn moved to New Plymouth, ID where they lived for 20 years.
Mary enjoyed gardening. She could make flowers grow anywhere she wanted to. Gardening was her true passion. She was also a very skilled seamstress. Through the years she was a wonderful homemaker who could cook and bake.
Mary is survived by Dick Johnson of White Hall, MT; Mike (Judy) Johnson of Chinook, MT; Peggy (Larry) Maier of Lewistown; Patty (Mark) Trask of Terry, MT and a special friend Jim Vaughn of New Plymouth, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; Daughter in law Sandy; Grandson Daniel; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry, MT. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service.
