Funeral Service: Saturday, September 15, 2007 a 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Miles City

Rite of Committal:will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery

Mary Lou Torstenbo, age 62, of Miles City passed away at the St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings on September 12, 2007 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Mary Lou was born on November 20, 1944 in Lewistown, MT to William Glenn and Lulu Mae (Alexander) Potterf. As a young girl, she attended schools in Hilger, MT, Hobson, MT and Harlowton, MT. Following graduation, Mary Lou worked for the Pepsi Cola Plant in Billings, MT. On August 25, 1962 she and Larry Torstenbo were married in Lewistown and lived in Billings before moving to Terry, MT in 1964. Larry taught while Mary Lou worked as a cook at the Prairie Community Hospital until 1969. They moved to Muncie, Indiana where Mary Lou babysat for a short time while Larry was going to school. In 1970, they moved to Miles City where they have resided since. She worked at the Holy Rosary Hospital and the V.A. Hospital as a cook. Mary Lou was an avid crafter who enjoyed working with her hands. She was a gifted woman who enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and knitting. Mary Lou loved spending time with her family and she adored her grandchildren. Mary Lous favorite moments were spent camping, fishing, hunting and especially playing cards with Larry and her family.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Torstenbo, of Miles City, sons Kurtiss (Nancy) Torstenbo of Rawlings, WY, Shawn Torstenbo of Miles City, MT, daughter Traci (Kyle) Kellum of Billings, MT, two sisters; Irene (Bob) McNees of Great Falls, MT, Beverly (Mel) Taurman of Lewistown, MT, brother-in-law Jack Craig of Christina, MT and six grandchildren; Shyler, Connor, Taylor and Braden Torstenbo and Kailee and Kanzas Kellum. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Glenna Craig.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 a 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery. Remembrances and condolences may be sent to the family atwww.stevensonandsons.com.Should friends desire, memorials may be sent to the family c/o Larry Torstenbo, 403 South Center, Miles City, MT for a memorial scholarship to be established in
Mary Lous name at the Miles Community College.
