Private Family Interment:will be in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery in Miles City
Mrs. Mary Lavawn Guerechit, 81, long time Miles City resident died of medical complications Thursday July 11, at home in Glide, Oregon surrounded by her eight children.
Mary was born June 1, 1926 in Kingsley, Montana, oldest daughter of James M. Carter & Magdaline Carter. Mary grew up on the family farm in Powder River County, Mary moved to Miles City with her family when she stated attending Custer County High school. Upon graduating high school Mary worked at the local telephone office. Mary Lavawn was united in marriage to Joseph Martin Guerechit on October 22, 1949 in Miles City. Mary devoted her life to raising her eight children. She was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, involved with the wrestling booster club. She enjoyed cake decorating and was a good friend and neighbor.
Mary is survivors include four sons, Ron Guerechit and wife Bobbie of Billings, Montana, Michael Guerechit and wife Mo of Great Falls, Montana, Larry Guerechit and wife Joy of Santee, California, Clifford Guerechit and wife Trish of Forest Grove, Oregon; four daughter Anita Guerechit of Santa Monica, California, Mary Ulrich and husband Tom of Helena, Montana, Theresa Parks and husband Phillip of Eugene, Oregon, Patty Farley and husband Scott of Glide, Oregon and a brother James Carter of Chester, Montana seventeen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin, her parents James and Magdaline Carter, two sisters, Lucile Warford and Loraine Powell and one granddaughter Bille Jo Ulrich.
A private family service will be held on Friday July 20, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Private family burial will be in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery in Miles City. Following the graveside service, friends and family will gather at the VFW Hall for a luncheon. Condolences may be made to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com.
