Funeral service: Monday, March 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kinta Baptist Church in Kinta, Oklahoma.
Interment: Quinten Cemetery in Kinta, Oklahoma.
Mary Louise Nicholson, 92 went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 17, 2008 with her family and caring staff at the Broomfield skilled nurses and Hospice by her side.
Louise was born September 21, 1915 in Fort Smith Arkansas she lived in a Salvation Army home with her birth mother (Mary Spicer) working in the home making sure she was well cared for until her adoption. At the age of 3 James Henderson Blair and his wifeZado Blair went to adopt, when Mary Louise jumped out from behind the door with a loud BOO!! They laughed and knew this little girl was for them.
They raised her in a loving Christian home in Kinta Oklahoma where she attended schools and graduated Kinta High in 1933. She attended Wilberton Jr. College for 9 weeks to appease her father and eloped with the love of her life Hubert Nicholson on April 14, 1934. Together they raised two children Patricia and James. In their young married years they lived in several Oklahoma towns as Hubert worked the Oklahoma Pipeline Company. They purchased Raper & Blair General Merchandise Store from the family. It became Nicholson General Merchandise where they worked together until their retirement in the late 1960s.
They moved to Siloam Springs Arkansas 1969 to be close to James and his family and help runOtasco Store. They moved to LakeTinkiller permanent in 1983 where they happily retired with Leonard and Orpha Nicholson enjoying playing cards when the fish were not biting.
After Huberts death in 1992, Louise moved to Miles City Montana where she was close to Granddaughter Terri, Husband Todd and Great Grand Children Tiffany and TJ. After 11 years in Miles City due to declining heath she moved to Denver to be close to her daughter Patricia and her husband Gary and Granddaughter Debbie and her husband Steve and Great Grandchildren Stav, wife Kristin and Kristal.
Louise spent many hours serving at the church, teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, young peoples Training Union classes taking care of the babies in the nursery. She Loved Everyone her family, dear friends and any person she would meet.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brunson (Gary) of Broomfield, CO, two Granddaughters DebraMallookis (Steve) of Littleton, CO, Terri Stevenson (Todd) of Miles City, MT, one grandson Todd Nicholson of Albuquerque, NM, Six great grandchildren StavMallookis (Kristin) of Denver, CO, KristalMallookis of New York, NY, Tiffany Tiff Stevenson of Miles City, MT, Todd John TJ Stevenson of Billings MT, Tyler Nicholson of San Antonio TX, Jacob Nicholson of Albuquerque, NM, one greatgreat Grandson Carson Dale Stevenson of Miles City MT. She also leaves behind many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Nicholson, her Son James Nicholson and her grandson Kyle Nicholson.
