Mary Mury Fadely

Visitation: will begin one hour prior to the services at the churchBillings

Funeral Service: Tuesday, at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monad and 36th St. West in Billings

Jordan Graveside Services: Marys family will receive family and friends at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan and then proceed to the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brusett.

Mary Mury Fadely, age 71 of Billings, Montana passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings after a battle with cancer.

Mary was born on March 1, 1932 in Bairoil, Wyoming, the daughter of Roy and Edna (Gutneght) Miller. She came to Montana on the train at 2 years old with her parents. She attended country school in the Blackfoot area.

Mary married John Arnold Mury November 27, 1949. They raised 5 children in the Missouri Breaks where they farmed and ranched for many years. They left the ranch and moved to Jordan in 1977 where Arnold did some local carpentry work. Arnold passed away in 1978. Mary did lots of traveling around at that time visiting her children and their families. She did some cooking and riding on some ranches throughout Montana. Mary enjoyed sewing western shirts for anyone that wanted a shirt. Some of her other hobbies included sketching with pencil or ink on anything from bone's to canvas. She also enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was always the life of the party! She loved to pull pranks on people. She was always one step ahead of everyone else. Mary never left home without taking her guitar with her. Music was a very important part of Marys life. On September 28, 1998 Mary married Phil Fadely. They lived just west of Billings, Montana. They played lots of music together; Mary on her guitar and Phil on the fiddle. Where there was Blue Grass and country bands; that is where Mary and Phil always were. Mary and Phils dream was to go to Branson, Missouri.

Mary was diagnosed with cancer the end of November. She passed away January 24, 2004 with her family by her side.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Edna Miller, 3 brothers, Harold, Roy and Eddie Miller, late husband Arnold Mury. She is survived by husband Phil Fadely, 3 sons, Dwane Mury (Barb) of Circle, Montana, Clyde Mury (Carmen) of Grass Range, Montana, Sam Mury, Hermosa, SD, 2 daughters Karen Paulson (Lee) of Bowman, ND, Cheryl Spillum, Jordan, Montana. 4 Step sons Mike, Patrick, Kevin and Chad, one sister Edith Kurns and 3 sister-in-laws, Darlene, Clara and Betty Miller, 12 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 1 great grand daughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monad and 36th St. West in Billings. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the church. On Wednesday, January 28, 2004 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Marys family will receive family and friends at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan and then proceed to the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brusett for the interment. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
