Mary Verona “Maryona” Johnson, of Miles City passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Friendship Villa in Miles City at the age of 96.
Maryona was born in the rural area around Malta, Montana. She moved to southeastern Montana at an early age of 18. She resided in southeastern Montana the rest of her long life. She was a rancher and proprietor in and around Miles City. She married J.A. “Pinky” Perry Jr. in 1941 where they owned and operated the 20 Ranch on Rosebud Creek. They had two sons: George and J.A. Perry III. After “Pinky’s” death, she married Roy Johnson and had another son Richard “Dick” Johnson. After Roy passed, she met Lyle “Wildhorse” Cunningham whom she resided with until his death in Miles City.
Maryona is preceded in death by J.A. Perry Jr., Roy Johnson, Lyle Cunningham, George Perry and J.A. Perry III. She is survived by her son Richard “Dick” Johnson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
