Graveside Service: Calvary Cemetery in Miles City.

Matt Stoltz, age 89, of Miles City passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at his home in Miles City.

Matt was born in Eagle Butte, South Dakota on January 23, 1921, the son of Peter and Margaret (Heniert) Stoltz. He grew up and attended schools in North Dakota and South Dakota. In 1942, he moved to Miles City, Montana for work then went to Anaconda, MT where he worked at the mines. He later returned to Miles City where he worked for Matt Dahl insulating homes, the Montana Highway Department then BN Transport for 25 years until he retired in 1979. Following his retirement he helped build homes in the Miles City area. Matt married Julie Friez on January 20, 1948 at the Sacred Heart Church in Miles City.

Matt is survived by his wife, Julie Stoltz of Miles City, MT; two sons: Dennis (Sheryl) Stoltz of Miles City, MT and Jim (Sandy) Stoltz of Miles City, MT; a daughter Mary Ann Stoltz of Miles City, MT; three grandchildren: Michelle Davis, Kareen Lamendola and J.J. Stoltz; and a brother Frank Stoltz of Miles City. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth & Jenny and four brothers: George, Mike, Roy & Jake.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.
