Memorial services for Matthew Manders age 46, of Gillette, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, Wyoming. Stevenson Funeral Home of Gillette has been entrusted with the arrangements.Matthew Alan Manders was born on January 15, 1957 in Hot Springs, South Dakota the son of Eugene and June (Alan) Manders. Matt was raised and educated in Newcastle, Wyoming. Upon his graduation, he began to work in area oilfields and later Methane in Wyoming and Utah over a twenty-five year span. In 1978 he married Susan Shambaugh, to this union came a daughter Venessa. The couple later divorced. Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Matthew is survived by his daughter Venessa (Jesse) Austin of Provo, Utah; his mother June Lee of Yuma, Arizona; four brothers: Robert (Soma) Manders of Newcastle, Wyoming, Joe Manders of Osage, Wyoming, Steve (Carol Borg) Manders of Custer, South Dakota, Paul Manders of Riverton,Wyoming; two sisters: Carolyn (Mike) Schaeffer of Casper, Wyoming and April (Darrel) Schlup of Newcastle, Wyoming; two grandchildren: Madison and Jacob; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
