Maya Lee Speelman-Weide, MaVeha “Red Spider Woman”, age 57 of Ashland, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2018. Maya was the daughter of Irvin and Nellie Speelman. Maya married Wayne Weide on June 15, 1985. Together they made their home in Ashland. Maya had two children, Irvin and Angel. Maya worked for St. Labre in Ashland for 37 years. Maya enjoyed the lake and the great outdoors. Maya also enjoyed her family time, especially her grandchildren.
Maya was a very strong-willed individual. Maya was very independent. Facing all of the challenges life gave her, Maya overcame them with grace and greatness.
Maya was preceded in death by her father, Irvin Speelman.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; mother, Nellie; son, Irvin (Melanie); daughter, Angel; brothers, Robert, Michael (Kristi) Gilbert (Tracy), Jeffery; sister, Lynelle; 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and adopted brothers and sisters.
