Melanie Rose Poitra, age 52, of Lame Deer passed away on January 1, 2025, at St. Vincent Healthcare Center in Billings, Montana.
Melanie was born on June 18, 1972, in Crow Agency, MT to LeRoy Poitra and Linda Freeman. Melanie was a homemaker for most of her life, she loved taking care of her children. When time allowed, she pursued college at Chief Dull Knife in Lame Deer.
Melanie is survived by her mother, Linda Freeman; children Don Allen Lonebear Jr., Tyson Lonebear, Shanda Lafranier, and Torilee Poitra; siblings Dale Roundstone, Dexter Poitra Sr., Desiree TwoCrow, Princess TwoCrow; grandchildren: Memphis Ray, Aliyana, LeJo Henry, Dominik Reigh, Heaven Lei, O’Shaun, Rajon, Drejon, Taezha, Ta’Shawn, Tammy Jo, Shantal, Talon Jr., Iverson Tate, Tylen James, and Tyleia Rose.
She is preceded in death by LeRoy Poitra, Francine Burgess, Larry Eastman, Evalee Foote, Bertha Freeman, Bernard Littlehead, and Phoenix Reign.
