Michael Lee Stockett, age 48, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Holy Rosary Health Care Center in Miles City.
Lee was born on November 14, 1962 in Amarillo, Texas to Nola Mack and Bettie Stockett. Lee spent his childhood years enjoying the Mulberry Canyon learning to ride in the canyon and explore everywhere. He enjoyed the company of his brothers and sisters. His folks taught him to appreciate good horses and care for cattle. Lee went to school in Claude, TX where he graduated in 1981. After this, he went to college at Clarenden College and then worked for several feedyards processing and riding through sick cattle and doctoring them. After this, Lee went into the military where he was in the infantry from 1984 1989. Here he saw lots of country and made lifelong friends.
When he was honorably discharged from the military, Lee went to college at West Texas State University where he got a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ag Business. Here he met his future wife, Karen. They were married on May 19, 1992. After college he went to work at the Hereford Feedyard and they then returned to Claude where they lived for three years.
Lee and Karen then moved to Mildred, Montana where they farmed, ranched and raised a daughter, Jessica who was born on February 19, 1998. Lee was a wonderful husband and father. He taught his daughter to love God and believe in the best. God gave him good friends, good family and a good life. Lees hope is that God has been able to use him to help bring others closer to God.
Lee is survived by his wife Karen of Mildred, MT; a daughter Jessica of Mildred, MT; his mother, Bettie and Father Nola Mack; two brothers: Jeff (Krista) Stockett of Canby, OR and Wes (Jodie) Stockett of Claude, TX; two sisters: Susan Stockett of Goodnight, TX and Michelle Stockett of Amarillo, TX; three nephews and five nieces.
