In Memory Of

Michael M. Fast Horse Sr.

Michael Mike Fast Horse Sr., age 72 of Wolf Point passed away January 17, 2007 at his home of natural causes.

Mike was born December 29, 1934 in Riverside, MT to Britton and Helen (Brown) Fast Horse. He attended school in Brockton and later went to college at the United Tribes in Bismarck, ND. Mike was a saddle bronc rider in the Rodeo, he worked as a farm hand and later worked for C & M construction. He worked in the carpentry and building trades. He also took a course in Bel Gardens CA. on auto mechanics. He retired from the Fort Peck Housing Authority in 2000.

Mike was married to Melinda Shields and later married Barbara Ricker Fast Horse. He was divorced at the time of his death. Mike did a lot of Native American crafts, making traditional bustles, tee pee lamps and plastic canvas with yarn with Native American designs and bead work making hat bands and a complete dancing outfit. He was a traditional dancer.

He is survived by his children; Cynthia Grey Bull of Billings, MT., Michael Fast Horse Jr., Gordon Fast Horse, John Fast Horse and Clarence Fast Horse all of Poplar, Arnold Fast Horse of Wolf Point, Michelene Fast Horse of Wolf Point, Katerri Fast Horse of Wolf Point, Lucinda Fast Horse of Wolf Point. Brother; Leonard (Linda) Rattling Thunder Sr. of Riverside, adopted sister; Lida Bears Tail of Mandaree, ND., stepchildren; Pat Brown, Larry Martin Jr., Joseph Muniz, Wayne (Poody) Saunders and Shelly and Helen Martin all of Wolf Point, special nieces; Katherin Koler of Seattle, Wa., Ronaleen Chute and Cheryl Bear Hill both of Wolf Point., Connie Fast Horse of Poplar, and Lani Jefferies of Iowa, uncles; Michael Anthony Walking Eagle and Steven Hosinka from Ft. Totten, ND., numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Johnny and Melvin and one sister Bridgette.
