Having worked in Forsyth for 10 years, knowing Bob – Darryl – Dan and many many other “gandy dancers”, I was privileged to get to meet Mike. He was one of the friendliest and hardest working ‘grunts’ on one of the biggest, most mismanaged companies on earth. He was not only one of the best machine operators I had met in my 30 years there, he was a person I wished I would have grown up with. My heartfelt loss goes out to all Mike’s family. HE was a Great man.

  28. ROD MOGEN says

    March 14, 2022 at 9:55 am

I’m so sorry to hear of Mikes passing. Even the bad times were good with Mike around . One time, we backpacked into the wilderness, and I injured my knee. Mike packed out and hiked all the way back and carried my pack out, too. Another time, the boom truck wouldn’t move because of ice and snow on the rail. Mike and I rode on the front with switch brooms on the rail for ten miles. The temperature was 20 below. He was a tough son of a gun. He will be greatly missed by all who new him.

  29. Les Zuelke says

depot in Miles. Guess who walked in! Couldn’t agree more, great guy.
