A good man went to meet his Lord on June 2, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was 53 years old.
Michael Watts was born in Bremerton, Washington on November 26, 1967. He moved every couple of years because his father was in the Navy. He started his education in Key West, Florida for his kindergarten year. We remember his first day so well because he got on the wrong bus. We were frantic, but he finally made it home safely.
Michael did have an exciting life, we followed his father to each duty station we were fortunate to be able to experience other cultures. Living in countries such as Guam, Japan and Hawaii. He really enjoyed activities such as Judo, baseball and was very serious about being in The Sea Cadets in Japan. When we moved back to the states from Hawaii to San Diego, he attended Montgomery High School. This is the time when he became very involved with his church.
We moved to Virginia where Michael worked as a personal trainer at a fitness center and as the manager at the local car wash. He played in a band with his younger brother David. Later he enjoyed going to gun shows with David.
Michael is survived by his parents, Vernon and Wilma (Jerrel) Watts; his brothers: Talmer and David Watts; sister-in-law, Teresa Watts; two nieces: Destiny and Teya Watts; and a nephew, James Tan. They all had a special place in his heart.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

It’s going to be hard to imagine life without Mike. Growing up with Mike was an adventure. He and I were like brothers and did everything together. From the trouble we got into to finding the Lord and doing a little playing with the church band. He loved life and he loved to laugh. I’m so glad that we kept in touch all of these years and will always think of him like a brother and will hold him close to my heart. I’m sure going to miss him and the talks we had. Until we meet again my friend.

So sorry we missed this, the note in the paper didn’t give much information. We didn’t figure it out in time. Love and prayers, Jim and Carol Watts

I happened upon this sad news as I was looking to re-establish old but dear connections from the past; my heart broke. Dear Vernon, Wilma, Talmer, and David, please accept my very late, but heartfelt condolences regarding Mike’s passing. -God bless
