Mike Landa, age 56, of Olive, MT passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2005 in Miles City, MT.

Mike was born on September 22, 1948 in Belle Fourche, SD to Joe and Rosalie (Giachino) Landa. He attended grade school at Duncan Creek, near Boyes and graduated from Powder River High School in Broadus. Mike attended one year of college, before moving to Idaho where he worked at the Railroad Ranch. Later, he returned to the family ranch inBoyes. In 1986, Mike married PhyllisAskin in Buffalo South Dakota and they returned to the river ranch to make their home. In 1999, they purchased the DougGaskill ranch where they have resided since.

Mike is survived by his wife Phyllis of Olive, MT, two step sons; Kirk (Judy) Askin of Buffalo, SD, and Kacey (Susan) Askin of Helena, MT, and a step daughter Kassie (Lane) Taylor of Miles City, MT, his parents, Joe and RosalieLanda of Broadus, MT, his brother Jerry (Sylvia)Landa of Boyes, MT, four step grandchildren; Alex and Sam Askin, Justin and his wife LaKrisha Augare and Kandi and her husband Rick Hand and family; two nephews; Bob Landa of Seattle, WA and John (Cathy) of Boyes, MT, his niece, CrisLanda of Missoula; a special adopted daughter Krista Minow and numerous cousins. Mike is also survived by his beloved dogs, and the loves of his life, 2nd to Phyllis, Leonard, LeRoy and Spot.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus, MT. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Congregational Church in Broadus, MT. Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus.
