MILO DEAN RICHARDS, 72, a 16-year resident of Sierra Vista, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at his home.

Milo was born October 25, 1932 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Elmer and Edna Richards. Milo became the man he was because of where and how he grew up. Growing up in a small town setting and having to work at the ranch at such a young age, gave Milo the independence and know-how to succeed in life. He was a star basketball player in Sheridan, Wyoming before joining the U.S. Navy and being stationed in San Diego, California where he met the love of his life, Doris. Once out of the Navy, Milo and Doris moved out of the big city and back to Montana where they lived for the next 24 years, during which time Milo worked at various occupations from a gas station owner to a bowling alley manager and finally ending up as part owner of McDonalds Restaurants. After leaving Montana, Milo opened up his own McDonalds Restaurant in Gillette, Wyoming with Doris. There they lived for the next 10 years before moving to Sierra Vista, Arizona and purchasing two McDonalds Restaurants. Milo retired from McDonalds after being a part of the company for 28 years. Golfing and woodworking filled Milos time during his retirement. Milo was a great husband, father and grandfather who always had a story to tell and we will miss hearing them very much.

Milo was preceded in death by his sister, Erlys Bartles.Milo is survived by his living wife of 52 years, Doris Richards of Sierra Vista; children: Patrick (LeAnn) Richards of Sierra Vista, Arizona, David Richards of Great Falls, Montana, Paul (Lori) Richards of Wilmington, Delaware and Connie (Brad) Lawson of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren: Brant, Tashina and Kelsey Richards, Lindsey, Doug, Lane and Taylor Lawson and Nicolas Richards and great-grandson, Tanner.

A time of visitation will be held Monday, May 30, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a short funeral service beginning at 6:00 P.M. at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S. Hwy 92.
