Monica Rose Bearcomesout “Mombie Rose” MA’ESEEOTAE “Red Medicine Woman” 28 was born on April 24, 1987 to Jeannette Bearcomesout and Bruce Spang. Monica came into this world the same way she left, fighting, as she was six weeks premature. On April 18, 2016 she was no longer able to continue her fight and crossed over to the other camp to be re-united with family that had passed on before her.
Monica grew up in the Ashland-Lame Deer area. She attended St. Labre and Lame Deer schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but her pride and joy was her son Uriah. She loved living out at her grandma Agnes & Grandpa Joe’s ranch, where she was always surrounded by family. She also enjoyed family vacations with her dad and his family, one of which her favorite was a week spent in New York. There she spent time in NYC and at the ocean. Monica also was known for her bead work.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Jeannette Bearcomesout; her son Joseph Brock Littlemouth; her grandfather Joe Bear Sr. Aunt Lana Bixby, uncles, Emery Bearcomesout, Tony Bearcomesout, grandfather Darrel Spang.
Monica is survived by her partner Preston Littlemouth and their son Uriah. Also by her best friend and brother Kyle Spang/Bearcomesout (Marlene) Gabby. She is also survived by her father Bruce Spang (Linda) Jessica & Bruce. Grandmothers Agnes Bear, who helped raise Monica & Suzie Cain. Her brother’s Brandon Spang, Quincy Bearcomesout and sister Taylor Whiteman, grandmother Phyliss Fisher (Spang), grandfather Kenny Harris. She is also survived by her uncles Joe Jr. (Charlie, Cindy, Jolene, Jolson, Jenise, Jason & Christine) Emery’s kids (Veronica, Emerlynne, Emery Jr. Brenda, Robert) Tony’s kids (Utahnna, Jared, Sharly, Spring) her aunts Henrietta (Manny, Lynette, BJ, Fred & Myron), Joetta (Luther Yellow Robe Sr., Tony, Destiny, Jordan, Lindsey, Jace) Tina (Roy Leamons, Cordell, Kaydell(Michael Nuanes), Lanette, Sierra) Veronica (Miles, Andrew, Jerry III) Lana’s kids (Taran, Derek, Britney, Devin, Victoria, nephew Christian Anthony) Mary (Gabriel Hart, Stefanie, Dylan) Angeline (Andrew Elkshoulder Jr, Alec, Kaya). As well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by her in-laws Ernest & Dolly Littlemouth, sisters-in-laws, Darcy, September & Nancy. And Brother in law Ace Littlemouth.
Monica has a very large extended family including Bearcomesout, Spang, Bearquiver, Longjaw, Marshal, Walksalong, Haugen, Fisher, Moss, Manley, Clubfoot, and Harris. If we have forgotten anyone we apologize.
We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Billings clinic, Lame Deer Ambulance Service and Riverstone Hospice House.
