Funeral Service: Saturday June 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth with a luncheon to follow.
Private Burial: will be in the Whitefish, Cemetery in Whitefish, MT at a later date.
Muriel K. Baker, 95, was born April 19, 1914 in Golva, North Dakota.
Preceding Muriel in death were her parents, Fred and Stella Gearey, sisters, Alvina Wassmann, and Luella Wright, brother, Alvin Gearey; two husband's, Joe Strohmayer and Harold Baker, granddaughter, Cami Christensen.
Muriel leaves behind sons, Duane [Virginia] Strohmayer, and Gary [Myrna] Baker, daughter, Jeanette [Paul] Christensen and their children Rusty [Connie] Strohmayer, Rick [Renee], Rodney Strohmayer; Brad [Betty] Christensen, Mindi [Mike] Rothwell, Cory [Jessica] Baker, Elise Johnson, Kyla and Ashley Baker, and great-grandchildren, Sheena, Taz, Jordon, Shaneal, Tai, Tasha, Brittany, Jazmine Strohmayer, Austin and Mark Christensen, Siera, Jaden, Jazlyn Baker, Madison and Markus Rothwell, and Jonah Johnson .
Muriel spent her formative years in Hollywood, California. They returned to Golva, North Dakota where she completed her education. She helped her mother care for their family, after the passing of her father. Muriel was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses in 1968. Sharing her wisdom, Muriel enjoyed meeting new people. Through the years, she was involved in the hotel business. Making friends along the way as a clerk at the The Ingham, Miles Howard, and her favorite The Milligan Hotel. With her beautiful smile and great sense of humor, Muriel was a joy to all who knew her.
Memorials may be made to the Rosebud Health Care Center or the charity of one's choice.
