Muriel Patterson, age 96, of Rosebud passed away February 15, 2014 at the Rosebud County Health Center in Forsyth.
Muriel was born November 12, 1917 in Conrad, MT to Albert and Annie (Blatchford) Jury.
She was raised and attended schools in Conrad, graduating from Conrad High School in 1936. She worked for Conrad Real Estate until her marriage to Harold W. Patterson, on February 4, 1939, in Great Falls, MT. After their marriage they lived in Belt, MT for a short time before returning to Conrad, where Muriel worked for Dr. Porter S. Cannon for many years. They raised their children in Conrad and in 1968 they moved to Lakeside where they lived for 40 years. In 2009 she and Harold moved to Rosebud to live with her daughter.
Muriel loved to garden. Her yard and garden were a testament to the talent God had given her. She and her husband camped, snowmobiled and fished every weekend for years. She was terrified of water but that didn’t stop her from getting in the boat and fishing. She and Harold were made for each other. Their lives meshed perfectly.
On February 4, 2014, Harold and Muriel celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary with a party at the home of their daughter. That and seeing the Nut Cracker Ballet were the highlights of her last year of life.
Muriel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Conrad where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and a Girl Scout Leader.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley Richard Jury and Edward Albert Jury and her son Baby boy Patterson.
She is survived by Harold, her husband of 75 years; son Jerry Patterson of Kalispell, MT; daughter Nancy Pasha of Rosebud, MT as well as 5 grandchildren; Amy (Brad) Adler of Forsyth; Tara (Delbert) Moore of Rosebud; Larry (Carolyn) Pasha of Anaconda; Cindy Patterson of Casper, WY; Jon Patterson of Casper; and 9 great-grandchildren; Boe, Wyatt, Barrett and Shay Adler; Paige and Cotton Moore; Richard and Kellee Pasha, and JadaLynn Patterson. Nancy & family–Most people walk in & out of your life, but friends leave footprints on our heart. Mom certainly left her footprints on those she touched–so glad she & dad got to celebrate their 75th. She was so happy. She is with Our Lord now, and what a great place to be. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

May the family find comfort in loving memories, and in knowing that God is “close to those that are broken at heart; and he saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25:8) With deepest sympathy.
