Myrle Elaine Harada, age 77, of Wolf Point passed away on May 9, 2006 at Northeast Montana Health Services surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 23, 1928 in Circle to Carol (Parsley) and Marvin Limesand. She grew up on the family homestead south of Wolf Point in the Prairie Elk/Weldon community. She attended school in Circle and graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1947.
Myrle worked at the Sweet Shop Cafe in Wolf Point for a short time then began her job at the Roosevelt County Courthouse in the Welfare Department. She met the love of her life Ben Harada and they were married April 30, 1952 in Chicago, IL. They made their home in Wolf Point, raising four children, Kiyo, Leni, Steven, and Jeffrey. Myrle worked part-time after her children were older and in school, first for the Farmers Home Administration and later working at the Listerud Clinic, retiring in 2003 after 24 years.Myrle was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor.
She loved her family and their time spent together, especially attending her grandchildrens activities. Myrle and Ben enjoyed their many travels across the country, especially Alaska. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles, and collecting hummingbirds. Myrle was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Elks Club, and Bridge Club.
Myrle is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ben; children Kiyo (Rockie) Ruhd, Leni (Marvin) Loendorf, Steven (Traci) Harada and Jeffrey (Michelle) Harada, all of Wolf Point; nine grandchildren, Ross, Ryan, Justin, Heidi, Krista, Kara, Sara, Dakota, and Jaki. Also surviving are sisters Shirley (Burk) Taylor of Wolf Point and Helen Heier of Helena, brother Lenny (Betty) Limesand of Sunriver, MT, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenny.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 from 1 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 10 a.m., both at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
