Myron Eldor Lindberg, age 81, of Miles City passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Holy Rosary Hospice Extended Care in Miles City.
Myron was born on October 29, 1932 in Strandburg, South Dakota, the son of Carl William and Mildred (Christine) Lindberg. He attended grade school in Strandburg, SD. In July of 1947 he had polio and was sent to Sister Kenny’s hospital in Minneapolis MN. He moved to South Shore, SD in 1949 where he graduated from High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955 after spending two years in Germany. Myron married Arlene Wellnitz Lindberg of Milbank, South Dakota in 1956. They lived in Stockholm, South Dakota where Arlene taught school and Myron drove truck for Lester Southwick. In 1957, they moved to Osakis, Minnesota where Myron worked for Minnesota Valley Breeders. He purchased Bud Pauli Trucking on October 18, 1962 and moved back to Milbank, South Dakota. After selling the trucks Myron worked for the Milbank Police Department and then went on to work for the Milwaukee St Paul Railroad. In 1972, he was transferred to Miles City, Montana where he worked as section foreman. After leaving the railroad, he drove truck for United Beverage for several years. In 1989, Myron held one of the largest antique tractor sales in Miles City MT. It consisted of over 100 John Deere Tractors and antique equipment and toys.
Throughout his life he was interested in horses and rodeos. He drove in chariot races with his dad and was involved with Eddie Vaughn and the World Famous Bucking Horse Sales for many years. He also took part in many cattle drives and wagon trains. After retiring, his hobby became buying and selling tractors. His joy was still scraping and junk dealing right up to is last days. Myron never knew a stranger and was a friend to everyone.

My sincere condolences to the family of Myron Eldor Lindberg,- May you find comfort in your loving memories, beautiful pictures and in recalling the many talents of Mr. Lindberg. It was not God’s purpose that mankind suffer and die and God has promised that a time will come when no one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24) Our loving Creator has promised that soon pain and death will be no more (Revelation 21:4). The Paradise that was originally promised for the earth in the Garden of Eden will be fulfilled causing God’s “will to be done as in Heaven also upon Earth” (Matthew 6:9, 10). Please be comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).

Arlene, Pam, Roxanne, and Kyle and families,
So very sorry to hear about Myron. He always had a story and time to talk. I loved listening to his stories!! Arlene, it looks like your kids and grandkids live close by, so they will keep you busy. Through the years I have lost touch with all of you. So sorry, time has a way of marching on. I remember all of my babysitting days when you lived in the basement house down the road! I have often wondered about “the kids” and where they were, etc. Lifting you and your family up in prayer at this difficult time.

i remember when i first met myron back in the 80,s , he stopped in my shop in clear lake ,SD, and wondered what i was doing with the old tractors in front of my shop, we discussed i was buying and selling, myron said he could find me alot of tractors in montanna, seemed like a ” crap shoot” at the time, did,nt know if i would ever see him again, that day was life changing for me, after that i bought hundreds of tractors from him, made many trips to miles city, most of the tractors i bought from him went into europe and kept my business going their, Again he was life changing for me , i have many interesting stories we made together, Many thanks to his family for being great peaple, i did,nt know about the funeral till it had passed, so next time i get to MC i will stop by, Much love to you all Doug & Family
