Nancy Carey Ballance, age 85, of Miles City passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born in Stanton, Florida on October 2, 1926, the daughter of Chauncey and Joy (Parker) Meekins. She attended schools and graduated from high school in Florida. She met and married Samuel Ballance on December 31, 1948 and to this union, four sons where born. After Nancy and Samuel were married Nancy received her LPN in Norfolk, Virginia. They moved throughout the United States during Sam’s time in the military, settling in Las Vegas until 2005 when she moved to Miles City.
Nancy loved to be mischievous as her family would say, she was proud that she was a recovered addict, and she was always very spunky, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her favorite quote was “If you believe in something – let it be known”.
Nancy is survived by four sons: Brian (Wendy) of Miles City, MT; William (Ellen) of St. Petersburg, FL; Buster (Sophia) of Henderson, NV; and Brett (Therese) of Henderson, NV; eleven grandchildren; Jessica (Joel) Cottrell of Burleson, TX, Justin (April) Ballance of West Fulton, TN, Kathie Ballance of Las Vegas, NV, Angela Ballance of Albuquerque, NM, Marie (Eric) Robinson of Tampa, FL, Amanda Ballance(Justin) of Brooklyn Park, MN, Susan (Norman) Alcarez of Miles City, MT, Charlie (Adrian) Cooper of Miles City, MT, Bobbi Morven of Miles City, MT, Arlena and Lorrie Ferrell of Las Vegas, NV and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
At Nancy’s request, no services are planned. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the local arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
