“A teacher affects eternity; He/She can never tell where His/Her influence stops.”
– Henry Adams
Nancy G. Rohloff, 73, of Miles City, bid a confident, loving farewell to this this world due to a complicated lung infection on May 27, 2022 in Billings, Montana.
Born in Columbus, Montana to Robert and Wilma Polston, Nancy attended UNC in Greeley, Colorado majoring in speech pathology. While in college, she met the love of her life, Ed Rohloff, and married on June 5, 1971 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They were blessed with 3 children: Josh, Jason (Scooter), and Molly; and grandchildren: Hayes, Bella and Harlow. She is survived by her sister, Jerry Firoved.
Nancy’s career impacted the lives of many serving over 30 years as an educator in Eastern Montana while driving to numerous schools weekly. She organized and was instrumental in Montana Special Olympics. Nancy could play any stringed or keyed instrument, sing like an angel and was proficient in sign language. She touched the lives of many; is gone but not forgotten. Many are blessed to have her in their life’s journey.

Kim Stanton says
Dear Josh, Scooter, and Molly,
Thank you for including the precious pictures of your mom. It was obvious from a young age that she was going to be a special person! Nancy was always your dad‘s biggest supporter and fan throughout his coaching career. Her love for him was inspiring. Many years ago Dan and I were at your parent’s house with the other coaches and their wives after a home football game. I commented to your mom how much I liked this decorative corn swag she had over the door. Your mom took that swag off the wall right then and insisted that I take it home! That’s just one example of her kind heart and how well she treated others. I trust the Lord is keeping you close to His heart and you will feel the love, support, and prayers of your friends, family, and the educators and coaches in the Miles City area.
With heartfelt condolences,
Kim, Kyle, Kasey and Christina Stanton

Darrin Pluhar says
My deepest condolences to the Rohloff family. Nancy helped me with a speech issue in the early ‘80’s by traveling to the Sutherland School north of Rock Springs every few weeks. Through it all I got to know Nancy as a very patient, gracious, caring and professional person who only wanted the best for whoever she worked with. I never realized how good she was at her job until later in life when I almost forgot I ever had an issue and that my “R’s” never sounded better. Later on, whenever I saw her during my time at CCDHS she would always flash that bright smile of hers as if to say “Yeah, you got this!” I owe her a debt of gratitude and hope she knew how much she meant to me and anyone else she helped. The world was a better place because of Nancy and now Heaven is also. Thoughts and prayers!
