Nancy G. Harmon, age 52, passed away on April 4, 2009 in Wolf Point, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born in 1957, the seventh child of Raymond and Phyllis Abraham. In 1963 the Abraham family moved from Richey to the farm. Nancy entered first grade and attended the country school. After the school closed in 2001, an all school reunion was held. Nancy was honored to be involved in the planning of this event. She loved visiting with friends and sharing memories with them. The book created for this reunion was special to her and she treasured the autographs signed by her friends.
Nancy had many fond memories of her childhood. One of her best memories was when Pa would take a break from farming and the family would go fishing. Nancy continued this tradition with her own family. Even when the fish weren't biting, she cherished the time and good conversation.
In 1976,Nancy married her best friend, Rick Harmon. They had two wonderful children, Karen and Dan. Nancy enjoyed watching Karen and Dan grow and guiding them to be successful, young adults.
Nancy loved being a grandma. She loved watching Dan and Judy with Walker. Walker was her ray of sunshine. While spending time with Walker on Valentines Day, they were drawing on the etch-a-sketch. Nancy drew a face with eyelashes and told Walker what long eyelashes he had. She showed him that she didn't have any. Walker touched his eyelashes and shared his with his grandma.
After she was married, Nancy became very close to her Aunt Maggie. Aunt Maggie was very knowledgeable and convincing, and influenced Nancy with words of the Bible. Nancy was baptized in April 2008, which brought her peace and comfort.
Nancys hobbies included gardening and watching flowers bloom, the fine art of crocheting, taught to Nancy by Aunt Maggie, working on remodeling projects with Rick, and the passion of woodworking. These projects and time spent with Rick were relaxing and fun, even though challenging at times.
Nancy said, What you want to do in life, just do it.
