Nancy Carol Yellowrobe Ma’heonehoehne’e “Medicine Comes out Woman” was welcomed by her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2020 after an extended time of illness at a care facility in Forsyth.
Nancy was born and raised in Busby until her family moved to Muddy in her teenage years.
Nancy and her husband Elmore Limberhand Jr. were part of the relocation that took them to Los Angeles. She stayed in the Los Angeles area until the 80’s when she returned to Lame Deer where she lived until she needed extended care.
Nancy’s mom Jean taught her girls how to cook and Nancy learned well. She loved to cook, but her first love was quilting. She made many beautiful quilts and enjoyed passing that skill on to others. She was a woman of many talents, including tanning, canning, gardening, beading and many more. When she returned to Lame Deer she went to work at the mailroom in Ashland, where she worked until retirement. Nancy spent many hours enjoying time at the casino.
After returning to Lame Deer, she became a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church. She was baptized at the Mennonite Church in Busby as a 14-year-old. Nancy loved the Lord and held her faith very dear.
She is survived by her children, June Limberhand, Faron (Doreen) Limberhand of Lame Deer, Doris Badbrave of Mandan, Matthew Yellowrobe of Los Angeles; grandchildren: Landon Medicine Bull, James, Douglas Jr., Joshua, Isiah, Racael, Rebecca, Charity, Blane, Savannah, Pete, Leona, April Bearcomesout, Michael Elkshoulder, Byron, Nicole, Susan, David, Leland Bad Brave, Faron Jr., Ryan, Flora, Celesta, Naomie, Kyle, Cheyenne and Jennifer, Melanie, Dexter, and Dale Poitra, Roger, Richard, Alusha, Tyler Cook; extended families, Limberhands, Yellowrobes, Wolfnames, Evans, Whitewolfs, Whiteshirt, Littlebears, Flyings, Stewarts, Medicine Elks, Guaveras, Pains, Eastmans, Killsnights, Littlecoyotes, Breys and Yarletts; nieces, Rosella Killsnight, Buella Brey, Tilly Yellowrobe, Ida Eastman, Jeannie, Gladys Yellowrobe, Donelda Burland; nephews, Moses Yellowrobe Jr., Luther Yellowrobe, Jarvis Yellowrobe Sr., and Maynard Yellowrobe Sr.
