Interment: will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City
Nellie Marie Shipman, age 65, of Miles City passed away at her home in Miles City on August 18, 2005.
Nellie was born on August 29, 1939 in Miles City, the daughter of Fred Henry and Martha Ellen (Martelle) Tyler. She attended schools in Miles City, graduating from Custer County District High School in 1957. Nellie worked at the Bean Bag and later at the First national Bank from 1959 until 1966. She and Berl Jay Shipman were married in August of 1966 and moved to Southern California. Shortly after, they moved back to Miles City where Nellie went to work for the First National Bank until her retirement in 1995. While Curt and Craig were playing baseball, Nellie was active in helping out at the mothers booth concession stand. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent the last seven years traveling from Miles City to Baker to be able to take care of her grandchildren during the week. She loved to sit back and relax, enjoying the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed watching the planes and nearby geese in the sky.
Nellie is survived by her husband of 39 years,Berl of Miles City, MT, two sons; Curt (Darla) Shipman of Glasgow, MT and Craig Shipman of Baker, MT, six grandchildren; Kyle Shipman, Trey Shipman, Anthony Shipman, Shelby Shipman, Darci Shipman and step-grandson; Jacob Renner, one brother; Tom Tyler of Bozeman, MT and two sisters Mildred (Ken) Espinosa of Miles City and Pearl Kiel of Miles City, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2005 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City, MT. Interment will follow at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City, MT.
