Newta grew up in Lame Deer, Montana on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation where she got her education. As a child she loved riding horse back, loved to dance and loved spending time with friends and family and was very social. She married Glen Manley in 1973, later divorced. She went to Technical School in Billings, MT and received a business diploma. She was a very loving and caring Daughter, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and Friend to her family and the community. She worked at LIHEAP for 23 years as the Director. She loved to work and help her Cheyenne People in any way she could.

The things she loved to do was going to bingo and sitting in her lucky spot and playing machines. She loved watching all her men in NBA, her favorite team was San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan was her best man. She always got excited and shouted while her team was playing. In her spare time she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a very inviting person. She had a very great sense of humor, loved to make everybody laugh. She always tried to help her family out as much as she could, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her family was her greatest achievement and she loved them very dearly. She loved listening to her music which included Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, 50s and 60s hits, Freddy Fender, Patsy Cline, she was an awesome dancer. She enjoyed watching Lifetime, CSI Miami, God Father, and Comedies. Loved to laugh and her laugh was very contagious.
