In Memory Of

Olga Axberg

Visitation: Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 10:00am to 6:00pm with family receiving from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth

Funeral Service: Friday, May 9, 2008 at 11:00am at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Forsyth.

Burial will follow in the family plot of Forsyth Cemetery.

Olga Lenora Axberg, age 99 of Forsyth, Montana passed away on Sunday May 4, 2008 at the Rosebud Health Care Center.

Olga was born on September 20, 1908 in Rembrandt, Iowa. She was the fourth out of eight children born to Amanuel and Martha (Ringheim) Johnson. She attended 8yrs of country schools, Ivanell, Scott and Nelson. She then attended high school in Vananda and Forsyth. She worked various jobs waiting tables and in early life moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she worked on radios for ships during WWII.She married Roy M. Axberg in 1946. Together they moved back to Montana in 1952 and farmed for a short time on Hammond Valley. She then waited tables at the Elk Cafe before retiring to take care of her mother in 1962 until her death in 1973.

Olga had many friends and loved her family. She took on many roles including caregiver, sister, aunt, great aunt, and especially mother to her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing clothes for family. She was a great cook and loved to cook for others. She especially liked gardening. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Forsyth and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sister C. Berniece Higginbotham and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers N. Clarence Johnson and Emanuel O. Johnson; her sisters Gurtrude M. Straw, Anna B. Mochon, Vernie G. Anderson and Myrtle A. OBrien; two nephews, David G. Johnson and Robert C. Johnson.Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church or one's choice.
