Olive Beatrice (Farnstrom) Buraas, age 90, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, February 01, 2007 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City.
Olive was born on August 3, 1916 in Walcott, North Dakota, the daughter of Richard and Ida (Lee) Farnstrom. She attended school in Roseglen, North Dakota. Following her schooling, she worked in Minot, North Dakota as a maid, cook, and took care of children. She married Emil Buraas on April 26, 1941. Following their marriage, Emil entered the service and Olive worked in Minot, North Dakota until 1946, when Emil was discharged from the Army. They remained in Minot until the fall of 1950 when they moved to Miles City and remained there until the time of their deaths. Olive enjoyed crossword puzzles, baking, cooking and fishing in her early years. She also enjoyed playing cards at the Drop In Center. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Harley) Klein of Miles City, MT; a sister, Edna Rovig of St. Maries. ID; three grandchildren: Stacy (Tawny) Klein of Seattle, WA; Rene (Jim) Driscoll of Knob Noster, MO; and Erik Larsen of Seattle, WA; and two great grandchildren: Courtney Klein and Hunter Driscoll.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Emil.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Veterans section of the Custer County Cemetery.
