Ollie Mary Kane, age 94, died on Sunday, May 15, 2005 in Gillette Wyoming.
Ollie Mary Wright Kane was born June 11, 1910 the daughter of William Robert Wright and Ollie Mae(Marquiss) Wright of Gillette Wyoming, where she was raised and educated, and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1928. After graduating she began teaching school at the Taylor Ranch in Southwest Campbell County. On January 10, 1943 she married Frank Kane in Denver, Colorado. The couple ranched south of town until 1955.
Ollie loved to travel and did so around the world. She made her first trip to Alaska the year she graduated from high school.
She was a member of various organizations such as a 4H leader for many years, she served on the Campbell County school board, the Cambell County cemetery board, she was a member of the Cattle Women, Wyoming Stock Growers, Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, Gillette City Counsel, Director of Stockmans Bank, National Association of Bank Women, American Assoction of Retired Persons, Buisness & Professional Women, Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the Nile and a member of the first prebyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons: Frank (Patsy) Kane, of Cave Creek Arizona; Don (Carlyn) Waldrop of Gillette; four daughters: Myra (Rod) Addison of Gillette; Kathleen (Clark) Reynolds of Rozet, Wyoming; Joy (Jeff) Sorenson of Arvada, Wyoming and Rachael Fulkerson of Gillette, Wyoming; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alice Speelman; one brother, Robert Earl Wright; two daughters, Mary Zoe Allee and Karan Lea McCuley; and one son-in-law, Doyle Lee McCuley.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Kanes name to benefit C.C. Cattlewoman Ag Education.
