Oris “Corky” Peterson, Miles City and Billings resident left this world on June 4, 2012 to join family and friends. He was currently residing in Miles City at the Holy Rosary Nursing Home under the gentle hands of the hospice team.
Oris was born on August 26, 1934 outside of Culbertson, Montana where he received his schooling and graduated from high school. He spent the majority of his life as a truck driver in the Billings area, which he called home, eventually owning his own company. He also worked for a time in Colstrip, Montana at the Long Construction Coal Mine.
Oris enjoyed spending his spare time with horses and his cowboy friends. Later in life he drove a wagon for the Roundup Wagon Train rides traveling from Miles City to Roundup.
Oris was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Fern Peterson, a brother Harold and a grandson Justin Murnion. He is survived by his daughter Cathy (Mike) Britton of Henderson, NV; two sons: Scott Torgerson and Kreig (Jan) Torgerson of Broadus, MT; and a grandson Skyler Watson of Billings, MT.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Colstrip Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
