Orvell Robert Kohones, age 95, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Intermountain Health Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.

He attended Denny country school, near the family ranch completing an 8th grade education. At the completion of the 8th grade, as it was war time, he was needed to work on the family ranch. Betty, Pam and Kohones family – we are sorry to hear about Orville. We have known the Kohones family for many years. Delmar worked for my dad in the 1950’s. always were good friends. The Kohones brothers were always together. They stopped and helped Ann change a tire on the Mizpah Road. REST IN PEACE ORVILLE,
Jim and Annalise Willson

To the Kohones family our long time family friends. We are saddened to hear Orville passed.
He shared our love of Red Angus cattle. Tom and him had many a discussion about bulls, as he also did business with us. Good memories. He was a one of the great generation. Our sympathy to his nieces and their families.

Orvell lived a long, full life on the ranch where he was raised , thanks to you , Ted and Pam ! I have such fond memories of going out there with Kenny and George to visit . There are so many stories to tell . One of my fondest memories was getting to go through the old house which still had some of Grandma’s kitchen items. They allowed me bring some old baking items home . I bet Michael and Orvell are having a good visit, as Michael always loved to visit with him.

I knew Orville as a quiet, gentle man. I did his income taxes for years at Stallard and Associates. He and his brother always came together. He was very organized. Always so respectful. He will be missed. My sympathy to his family.

“Uncle” Orvell was one of a kind. Wes and I made many trips to the ranch to visit Kap, John and Orvell (21 cattle guards to cross). The ranch was a favorite during hunting season, looking for that perfect whitetail buck or a turkey. And the many holiday dinners with the “boys” at Pam and Ted’s. RIP Orvell
