Patricia Leigh Holtz, age 81, of Meeteetse, WY formerly of Miles City and Ismay, MT passed away on September 11, 2010 in Billings, MT.
Patricia was born on March 22, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Merle (Goodrich) Shumaker in Ismay, MT. She attended grade school at Opheim, MT, Darby, MT before moving to Ismay where she graduated from Ismay High School. Patricia moved to Aberdeen, SD where she attended nursing school until she married Don Holtz on August 27, 1949 in Miles city, MT. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD for a short while before moving back to Miles City where they worked for the Miles City Livestock Commission. Later they would work for oilfields in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. They moved back to Eastern Montana where they worked for area ranches. In, 2005 they moved to Meeteese, Wyoming where they have made their home since.
Patricia is survived by her husband Don Holtz of Meeteetse, WY, her daughters; Charlotte Louise Haughian of Cody, WY and Tammie Lorin (Tom) Neill of Edgewood, NM, her brothers Jerry (Dianne) Shumaker of Billings, MT formerly of Ismay, MT and Gene (Kathy) Shumaker of Great Falls, her son-in-law Jere Wheatley of Waterloo, Iowa. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Donella L. Wheatley and son Clark Eugene Holtz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 with the family to receive friends from 4 to 6pm. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church in Meeteetse, WY. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
