Patti Lynn Waters, age 83, of Miles City passed away on Monday, November 4, 2003 at her home in Miles City.
Patti was born in Britton, South Dakota on August 4, 1920, the daughter of Gunder and Clara (Bean) Loberg. Patti attended schools in Circle, Montana where she graduated from high school. Following her schooling, she entered the United States Air Corp where she served during World War II. She was honorably discharged from the service on February 18, 1946. Following her discharge, Patti flew all over the country selling cosmetic supplies for cosmetic companies. They would fly into large cities and set up demonstration areas where they would do facials to promote their products. Patti then moved to various towns where she worked in beauty shops. In 1958, she had a beauty shop in Poplar, Wolf Point, a beauty college in Wolf Point, a shop in Glasgow and 12 stations at the Airbase in Glasgow all at the same time. Patti also had shops in Plentywood, Glendive, and Billings before moving to Miles City where she has had a shop for over 20 years and was still doing hair up till the time of her death. Patti loved to visit; she could sit for hours and talk to people. Patti also loved cats and old Cadillacs.
Patti is survived by her brother, Claude Loberg and his wife Donna of Wolf Point, MT; a sister-in-law, Pat Loberg of Circle, MT; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Bob Murray.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Gardiner "Red" Loberg and Garnett Loberg.
A prayer service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held at a later date in the Veteran Section of the Circle Cemetery in Circle, MT. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com. Am so sorry to hear of the passing of another of Gunder and Clara’s children. I fondly remember visiting on their ranch when I was a child. I got to know my cousin Claude a bit, and met Gardiner and Garnett while there. Am very appreciative of this information . . . . I had no idea of whom remains in Montana of the family.
